Training Information: CED-0800 - Electrical 1

This introductory-level course provides a foundational overview of the electrical trade in Vermont, with a focus on residential wiring. Students learn core concepts in electrical theory, safety practices, basic electrical calculations, and hands-on skills like conduit bending and working with motors. The course introduces the NFPA 70 code and covers a wide range of residential systems and components, including circuits, lighting, service equipment, and specialty installations like pools and PV systems. Students also build essential math skills, explore professional tools and materials, and engage in career readiness topics such as communication, teamwork, and workplace professionalism
