Training Information: CED-0838-VTSU - Basic Welding

Gain practical skills to weld with confidence!

This Basic Welding training begins with welding safety, a mandatory requirement for use of the Vermont State University Randolph Campus Welding Laboratory.

You will learn MIG, STICK, and TIG welding techniques with plenty of hands-on time and instructor guidance. This training will also cover various types of metals and their properties about welding, proper tank and pressure setup, what an ideal weld should look like, and recognition of when defects occur that produce poor welds. You will also learn how to use a plasma cutter to accurately cut various types of metal.

You will create a small project as part of this training, with the suggested completion of a rocket stove. All materials are provided.

No previous welding experience is required.
