OSHW 100 - Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene: Air Monitoring

This one-day course will introduce the participants to the basic concepts of industrial hygiene air monitoring, including hands-on experience with sampling equipment and interpretation of laboratory reports. This continuing education course can be used for safety related certifications such as CSP, SMS, ASP, OHST, CHST, and others. This course will be provided by Luis F. Pieretti, PhD, CIH, CSP - Associate Professor at the College of Public Health, University of South Florida.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize some of the principles of industrial hygiene air monitoring.
  • Perform basic calculations required to do when performing air monitoring and estimating the employees' exposures (time weighted average).
  • Distinguish different resources available related to industrial hygiene air monitoring.

Participants are encouraged to bring a calculator or any other device to perform mathematical calculations.
