Compensation Design and Administration
Issues in compensation design and administration center on four areas:
- external events (labor market, government legislation)
- strategy issues in integrating compensation plans with organization and human resource planning
- pay system mechanics and assignment of value to jobs in the organization and processes of administration (secrecy versus openness, participation in pay system design and administration)
In this course, you will review the tools and techniques for designing, implementing, and administering legal wage and salary programs. You will also look at the effects of compensation on motivation and performance, determining salary increase budgets, comparable worth and EEO issues, labor market surveys, and establishing the pay-performance linkage.
