Firestorm over Darmstadt" recounts the RAF bombing of Darmstadt, Germany, in September 1944, which killed over 11,000 civilians. One of three WWII firestorms, it shocked residents who believed they were spared due to royal ties. The raid's impact still resonates in Germany and England.

Bill Cosgrove

Biography:

BILLCOSGROVE is a graduate of both theUniversity of Georgia and Clemson University. He retired from the US EPAfollowing a 35-year career in Athens, GA. He also served as an adjunctinstructor at UGA for 32 years and has taught with OLLI programs at UGA, NorthFlorida, and UNC Asheville since 2013. Bill's real interest is WWII history, ashis father served with the American Field Service and his father-in-law as anartillery officer in Patton's 3^rd Army. He is a volunteer withthe Witness to War program and author of Time on Target: the 945^th FieldArtillery Battalion in WWII.
