Course Title: (HIS224) THE HISTORY OF LATIN AMERICAN BASEBALL PLAYERS IN THE MAJOR LEAGUES

In December 2024, Juan Soto signed a record 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets-the largest in sports history at the time. This course explores Latin American players in MLB, including Hall of Famers, managers, and current stars, while highlighting baseball's cultural significance in countries like Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.

Raul Galvan

Biography: Dr. RAUL GALVAN taught Latin American History at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for years, while working at Milwaukee PBS as a Production Executive, until he retired and moved to beautiful Beaufort. He was born in Cuba and has led numerous travel groups to the Island.
