Course Title: (HIS126) PATTON'S THIRD ARMY IN WWII

This course is the first in a three-part series covering the Third Army's combat story in the European Theater of Operations (ETO). Activated in early August 1944, Patton's Third Army launched a breathtaking advance across France, crossing the Moselle River at Nancy in September. The story is told through the eyes of combat infantrymen interviewed by Bill as part of the Witness to War program, along with insights from his numerous trips to the battlefields in France. Follow-up classes will cover the Battle of the Bulge (December 4th) and the drive into Germany (Winter/Spring).
