T&L 2900: ONL: Cultural & Cuisine: World Food Patterns (1 Credit)

Explore the diverse cultures of the world through the universal language of food. This course examines global cultures through the lens of ethnic foods, culinary traditions, and food systems. Students will explore historical, contemporary, and future issues related to food patterns in a global society, including topics such as religious practices, cultural celebrations, and traditional cuisines. In addition, we will explore the impact of economics, politics and social constructs and how they affect nutritional status across cultures. Learning experiences will blend familiar topics with new concepts and experiences to provide new cultural insights.
