Course Detail: PCHI104 - VIRTUAL PERSONALIZED CHESS INSTRUCTION w/ Mai Narva, Women's International Master

Mai Narva: Women's International Master (WIM) Do you have a student looking to grow as a competitive chess player? Are you interested in affordable and personalized instruction? Students in UMBC'S chess development program, Chess Academy, will work one-on-one with an experienced, titled player from the UMBC Chess Team.

Our coaches evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your student to design a customized course of instruction, focusing on opening, middle-game, and endgame techniques, that will help develop your student as a competitive chess player.

Women's International Master (WIM), Mai Narva is from Estonia. She's a Junior at UMBC, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Philosophy. She was the European Champion for Girls under 16 and achieved 5th place at the World Championships for Girls under 18. She is currently the highest-rated female player in Estonia and is a four-time Estonian Women Chess Champion. In addition to her studies in psychology, she loves black coffee, table tennis and tetris.
