Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures

This half-day course introduces the concepts and requirements of the Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) rule (40 CFR Part 112). It can act as your required annual SPCC training and is also a great introduction for new oil-handling personnel. The material focuses on industrial, commercial, agricultural, and public facilities using or storing oil and covers essential topics such as: rule applicability, general rule requirements, prevention measures, secondary containment, inspection procedures, spill response, and notification. You will work through the EPA Tier I Qualified Facility Template and learn the basics of developing, implementing and maintaining an oil spill prevention plan (SPCC plan). Through practical exercises and discussions, you will grow your understanding of the SPCC Rule and how to control and respond to spills.
