Regarded as China's Cosmopolitan Age, the Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE) saw significant territorial expansion, great economic prosperity, important cultural achievements, the rise of Buddhism and strong foreign influence. This course will examine the artistic products of this period, including painting and calligraphy, ceramics, architecture, and Buddhist art.
