Course Detail: HEATILLNESS - OSHA - Workplace and Health Training on Heat Stress for Workers and Employers

Exposure to hot, humid environments in the workplace can lead to severe illness or death for workers unable to maintain their body's temperature within a safe range. It is of utmost importance that not only supervisors but also employees recognize the risk of heat exposure. Employers and employees should use this training to identify environments that place workers at risk for heat exposure, early warning signs of developing heat illness, immediate actions the worker can take to counteract the effects of heat exposure, and basic mitigating factors to limit their risks. Employees and managers who take this course will be able to work together to identify heat exposure risk, recognize symptoms of heat illness, provide immediate care for a worker experiencing heat illness, and identify mitigation efforts to combat heat exposure. Employees will also understand their risks and be able to recognize early indicators of heat exposure.
