Sampling Workshop for Industrial Hygiene and Workplace Safety
This 1-day course provides an introduction to the principles and practices of industrial hygiene sampling, a critical aspect of occupational health and safety. Students will learn how to identify occupational hazards and sample for them, including air contaminants, noise, vibrations, radiation, mold, hazardous chemicals, and thermal stressors. Sampling best practices such as developing a sampling plan, following QA/QC protocols, filling out a COC, communicating with a lab, and interpreting and reporting results will be discussed. Students will engage in interactive exercises and hands-on practice with a range of sampling equipment typically employed in the environmental and occupational health and safety profession.
