In 1926, Sloss Furnaces launched a new marketingventure to help compete in the foundry business. Knownas Pig Iron Rough Notes, it began as a small monthlypublication and became important in the advancementof the foundry trade. Readers submitted recipes to be featured on the back page called "A Gentleman Cooks."Two recipes were for Muskrat and TN Squirrel Stew.
