Course Detail: WTBA170 - Building Automation Systems Fire & Alarm Systems

This 45-hour course meets once a week for 15 weeks. As a result of this training students will be able to interpret engineering and circuit plans specific to fire and security alarms; locate and describe fire safety control and suppression system; explain the function of initiating devices and notification appliances; describe the function of various security access and control systems; and demonstrate how fire and security systems integrate with building systems.

Schedule: System Description : WTBA 170 is the fourth of four courses that comprise SLCC's Level 1 BAS certificate. It meets Tuesdays nights from 6-9:00pm in MCPC 120 on the Miller Campus in Sandy from 1/6/26 to 4/14/26. The other courses are: WTBA140 BAS Fundamentals, WTBA 150 Basic Electrical Concepts, and WTBA 160 Devices & Control Theory.
