Course Detail: TCTO100 - TOEFL Prep

This 32-hour course meets 1 day a week for 8 weeks. As a result of this training students will be able to identify and explain the structure and format of the TOEFL test; apply test-taking strategies to complete practice questions under timed conditions; expand and apply academic vocabulary in speaking and writing activities; and utilize online resources to help prepare for the TOEFL test.

Schedule: This is an in-person course but the practice activities, quizzes, and tests are online in Canvas. The class will start on 2/27/26 and end 4/24/26. The class will meet on Fridays, from 9 am - 1 pm at the South City Campus. No class will be held during Spring Break 3/9/26-3/14/26.

Bulletin

Students enrolling in this course should possess English language proficiency equivalent to CEFR Level B2 to ensure their ability to engage with course materials and activities effectively. The purpose of this course is to inform students of the structure and format of the TOEFL test, apply test-taking strategies, and expand academic vocabulary. The course does NOT include the actual TOEFL test. Please bring personal laptops and headsets, if you have them, to the first day of class. The class will start on 2/27/26 and end on 4/24/26. The class will meet on Fridays, from 9 am - 1 pm at the South City Campus. No class will be held during Spring Break 3/9/26-3/14/26.
