Course Detail: WTPE500 - Methods of Teaching PE Activities

This 30-hour course meets over an 8-week period for 3.5 hours per week. As a result of this training, students will be able to develop and implement various team sport lesson plans; monitor and evaluate student motor skill progression in sports, dance and other physical education skills; create and defend a personal philosophy of physical education; and evaluate components of exercise physiology including heart rate, breathing, muscle fatigue, flexibility, etc.

This course is one of four designed for Utah K-12 educators seeking a PE Endorsement. This online course will introduce you to basic teaching practices for physical education and team activities. Students will develop and implement strategies for teaching motor skill progression by applying the Utah State Core Standards.
