This 30-hour course meets 1 day a week for 8 weeks. As a result of this training students will be able to design and plan curriculum aligned with Utah Effective Teaching Standards to include learning intentions, success criteria, learning experiences, and learning progressions that allows coverage of standards within a timeframe; construct and use authentic formative and summative assessments that build upon students' previous learning, support current learning intentions, and allow for multiple demonstration of competency; design tools that allow students to track, reflect on, and set goals for authentic learning and real-world connections, demonstrate competency multiple times, and that provide feedback to parents on student growth; and design a variety of engaging instructional strategies aligned to learning intentions, success criteria, and learning objectives that build on student background knowledge and support students' needs and promote active learning.
