Certificate Detail: BCSANDMOSCERT - Basic Office Computer Skills with Microsoft Certifications

The Basic Computer Skills & MOS program is intended for students who are new to computers and need to learn how to navigate and complete basic computer actions. This program takes up to 252-hours, and up to 48 weeks. This program meets 3 hours, twice a week.Students learn basic computer components, practice keyboarding skills, learn how to use the internet, email and social media, plus job readiness skills. The program includes introductory Microsoft courses in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Students learn to use these software applications to create a current resume, personal budget, and slide presentation.Students will then work-through online intermediate Microsoft courses in a self-paced lab setting. Students access practice tests to prepare for three proctored Microsoft Associate certification exams in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Upon successful completion, students will be able to create templates, manipulate documents, graphics and pictures, collaborate and track changes on documents, analyze data and tables and manipulate pivot charts.Once students have successfully passed all four sections, they will be awarded three Microsoft Office Associate certifications and the SLCC Workforce Basic Office Computer Skills with Microsoft Certifications certificate. Students are then considered certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist.
