Course Detail: AD1017 - Introduction to Diagnostic Criteria (DSM)

Through didactic learning, collaboration, discussion, research and classroom participation, participants will develop a basic understanding of the assessment instruments and diagnostic tools for Substance Use Disorder treatment, including but not limited to the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-5), International Classifications of Diseases (ICD) standards, the Addiction Severity Index (ASI), the A.S.A.M Patient Placement Criteria, OASAS LOCODTR Non-Crisis Level of Care Determination, NYSCRI Mental Health Status Exam, and the SAMHSA suicide risk assessment. 19 HrsSocial Work Credit *Book: The DSM5 TR 2022 is needed on the first day of class.
