Course Detail: PT1000 - Pharmacy Technician Program

This course is designed to prepare students for employment in various pharmacy settings. The program is 80 hours of didactic classroom theory and an optional externship consisting of 80 hours of experiential education. Upon successful completion of didactic course work, the program's Clinical Coordinator will coordinate the 80-hour externship with those student who enrolled in the optional externship. Please refer to "Student Externship Agreement" form for full details and requirements. The curriculum of the program is modeled after the American Society of Health System Pharmacies (ASHP) accreditation standards and knowledge domains outlined by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
