Course Detail: SV6000 - School Violence Prevention And Intervention Workshop

In compliance with section 52.21 of the Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education, the School Violence Protection and Intervention Workshop will address techniques for prevention and intervention in schools at the K-12 levels. Dr. M. Schiering presents an interactive workshop that facilitates understanding regarding the major issues that confront and challenge today's educators. She is mindful of the stress present in the communities' children experience, and has designed this workshop to involve the attendees in the learning process. This process includes, character education, the aforementioned intervention and prevention techniques, and a summary of the Safe Schools In Violence Education Act. Each student successfully completing the workshop will receive a "Certificate of Completion." Successful completion requires attendance and participation workshop, and the submission of a written reflection/critique at the end of the workshop. Open to non-Molloy students as well. The course is generally offered about once a month. Tuition: $45 (Molloy Students, use your Molloy email when registering) $55 (Non-Molloy Students)
