Course Detail: CE-0826 - GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher

This course is taught in cooperation with Relyon Nutec under their GWO approval. This BST Training shall enable participants to support and care for themselves and others working in the industry by possessing the knowledge and skills of First Aid, Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Sea Survival and in case of an emergency, to be able to evacuate, rescue and provide appropriate First Aid to Casualties.You MUST have a WINDA ID to register for this class. Create your WINDA ID if you do not have one. This class is a refresher that is needed every two years after completing the full GWO Basic Safety Class.

Bulletin

Completion of blended learning is required no less than 48 hours prior to attending class on campus. Please check your email for the following address: no-reply@learning.relyonnutecdigital.com. You must email a copy of your completion certificate to MCRE@maritime.edu prior to arrival. Please bring safety glasses, "mechanix" style gloves and wear long pants and steel toe safety shoes. Bring a change of clothes and a towel on the 3rd day for the sea survival module. Bathing suit and t-shirt recommended. All course participants will be weighed prior to the start of the class and must weigh no more than 275 lbs in order to not exceed the rating of our fall protection equipment.

Richard Flannery

Richard Flannery

Biography: Captain Flannery is a USCG licensed Master of near coastal vessels of up to 100 Gross Tons. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Bridgewater State University and is also a USCG approved Instructor at MMA. Capt Flannery has been involved in almost all CMPT programs since 2011 and has played a pivotal role in the development and delivery of the GWO program.

James Redmond

Biography: James Redmond has 19 years of experience working as a Wind Turbine Technician and Remediation System Operator. He is certified in high access rescue for the wind turbines and has more than 9 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center wind turbines at Joint Base Cape Cod. James has a Bachelor of Science degree in Facilities and Plant Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a primary focus on power generation and treatment plant operations and maintenance.
