Course Detail: OREG - Aviation Regulation in the U.S.
Overview
The Aviation Regulation Course, developed by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, is part of the U.S. Aviation Law Diploma in partnership with IATA and introduces participants to the regulatory environment as it pertains to the aviation and aerospace industry. Participants will explore the framework of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations which govern Part 121 airline operations; review the framework of FAA regulations; examine the FAA enforcement process; and discuss the role of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in appeals from certificate holders.
Course participants will gain a meaningful overview of the aviation administrative law process in the U.S. Sessions will cover an array of areas related to how the regulatory environment is applied to various parts of the aviation industry. Special attention will be given to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory and enforcement process. Additionally, the course will cover the important role that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) plays in the accident investigation and FAA enforcement process.
The ERAU Aviation Regulation in the U.S. Course will be submitted for consideration to the Florida Bar for the award of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Credits. The ERAU and IATA short-courses and diploma are not eligible for academic credit toward a degree program, nor do they qualify individuals to practice law or sit for the bar exam.
The Aviation Regulation course can be taken independently or toward the U.S. Aviation Law Diploma, offered in conjunction with ERAU and IATA.

Course Objectives

- The legal and regulatory environment as it pertains to those working in the airline industry.
- The role that the U.S. Congress as well as executive branch agencies such as the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) play in enacting and enforcing laws.
- The role that federal government plays in addressing problems in the industry.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Embry-Riddle will award CEUs to each attendee who successfully completes the course.

Cancellation Policy
A cancellation charge of $150 will be assessed on any standard cancellations.
