Course Detail: BINTS - Beginner to Intermediate: Sewing Easy Fit Skirts

Students should be comfortable operating a sewing machine, threading the machine, winding and inserting a bobbin, sewing straight and curved seams, backstitching, pressing seams.

Ready to start sewing clothing? This class is the perfect introduction to garment sewing. Students should already know how to thread a sewing machine, sew straight seams, press fabric, and complete simple sewing projects independently.

During this course, students will learn how to measure for the correct size, calculate fabric yardage, cut a circle skirt, create a comfortable elastic waistband, hem curved edges, and finish a handmade garment they'll be proud to wear. Students will leave with the confidence to begin sewing simple clothing and better understand garment construction. Classroom sewing machines are provided; however, students are welcome to bring their own sewing machine for added comfort and familiarity.
