Course Detail: ASLBB - American Sign Language Basics for Beginners

Learn American Sign Language through an interactive, beginner-friendly course taught by a Deaf instructor. Designed for adults with little or no previous ASL experience, this six-week course combines practical language learning with meaningful exposure to Deaf culture and communication.

Participants will build foundational vocabulary, practice fingerspelling, learn common phrases and conversational skills, and develop greater confidence communicating visually. Through demonstrations, guided practice, and interaction, you'll learn not only how to sign, but also important cultural norms and perspectives that support respectful communication with members of the Deaf community.

Whether you want to learn ASL for work, family, community engagement, or personal enrichment, this course offers an approachable and authentic introduction to the language.
