Course Detail: GESL - Grammar Refresher for ESL Teachers
Knowing English grammar and being able to teach it clearly are not always the same thing. Grammar Refresher for ESL Teachers is a practical professional development course designed to help educators strengthen their understanding of key grammar systems while becoming more confident and precise in the way they explain them to learners.
Participants revisit essential topics such as tense and aspect, question forms, modality, and complex sentence structures through the practical framework of Meaning, Form, and Pronunciation (MFP). Rather than relying on intuition or memorized rules, teachers learn how to analyze grammar systematically, anticipate common learner difficulties, and make complex concepts easier to understand.
The course emphasizes classroom application. Participants practice using guided discovery, concept-checking questions, error analysis, and communicative activities to help students understand and use grammar more effectively.
By the end of the course, educators will have stronger grammar knowledge, greater confidence in answering student questions, and practical strategies for delivering clear, engaging grammar instruction across proficiency levels.
Format: 15 hours, fully asynchronous, with self-paced modules, practical teaching tasks, and error-analysis activities.
