Course Detail: PCSE-135 - DRAWING AND ILLUSTRATION

Build a strong foundation in drawing, composition, and visual storytelling with this course. Learn essential drawing skills and create hand drawn and/or digital work for you portfolio.

A $300 deposit is required to reserve a spot in PCSE programs. Once you select "Resident" or "Commuter" tuition, you will be able to make a "Minimum Payment" in your shopping cart. A minimum payment of $300 is required, however, additional amounts can be paid.

Ryan Wheeler

Biography:

Ryan is a 2012 CCS Illustration grad currently working at Prop Art Studio to create larger than life sculptures and installations. The mixture of studio skills, such as painting, woodworking, and carving, have merged with digital media (Illustrator, Photoshop, Maya) to provide clients with high quality, durable displays. He has taught drawing classes for five years as an adjunct in the CCS Foundations Department. Drawing I: Rapid Concept, and Drawing II: Style and Skill provide students the necessary skills to become proficient in linear perspective, concept development, anatomy, and visual communication.

Biography: Erika LeBarre has always been exposed to art one way or another as she grew up. Her father worked as a car designer for the Big Three, and her mother was a potter. Erika's parents always encouraged her creative side. Drawing was her favorite thing to do. Erika graduated from the College for Creative Studies with a BFA in illustration. Initially she worked at an art studio with other illustrators and designers for several years. Since then she has worked on her own for a wide variety of clients and projects such as product and packaging labels, posters, point of purchase, signage, direct mail, magazine ads, editorial, greeting cards, children's books, grade school textbooks, gift books, eBooks, websites, textiles, logos and character development. Erika is also an instructor in the illustration department of College for Creative Studies.Erika's working techniques are both traditional and digital including pastels, acrylics, Photoshop, and vector-based illustrations using Illustrator. She creates illustrations using textures, smooth gradations and intense color that can create a look that is anywhere from stylized, whimsical, editorial, conceptual and graphic to realism with a twist of fantasy.
