Landscape and Horticultural Services Safety Awareness

Landscape and horticultural services encompass a wide range of services such as landscape design and architecture; soil preparation and grading; irrigation systems; tree, shrub, and lawn planting; hardscape construction including retaining walls, pathways, and patios; lawn care and landscape maintenance; arborist services including tree trimming and line clearance.

Many workers in the landscaping and horticulture services industries are exposed to several hazards including noise, pesticides and chemicals, sprains, strains, eye injuries, heat stress, amputations, drownings, slips, trips, falls, electrocutions. This course will increase worker awareness and help identify hazards, and solutions to specific activities within the landscape and horticultural services industry.

To attend an OSHA-numbered course offered virtually (VILT) through USF OTIEC, participants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be an existing student who has previously completed a USF OTIEC course, or
  • Provide a registration address located in one of the following states: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina
