Heat Illness Awareness Training

This course provides awareness-level training for heat stress to those trades that may be susceptible to heat stress and those who are charged with ensuring their safety.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Recognize heat stress and heat related illnesses
  • Understand factors that impact heat stress
  • Identify trades at risk for heat stress
  • Explain ways to prevent heat stress
  • Identify useful tools and resources
  • Ways to screen for heat stress
  • Evaluate scenarios and recommend heat-stress reduction methods
  • Identify the OSHA enforcement and Advance Notice of Proposed Rule Making that is currently taking place

To attend an OSHA-numbered course offered virtually (VILT) through USF OTIEC, participants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be an existing student who has previously completed a USF OTIEC course, or
  • Provide a registration address located in one of the following states: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina
