Strengthening Safety in Action Summit: Prevent, Protect, Perform Building skilled workers, safer worksites, and resilient communities
Strengthening Safety in Action Summit: Prevent, Protect, Perform is a full-day, in-person Safety Summit hosted by the USF SafetyFlorida Consultation Program, the USF OSHA Training Institute Education Center, and the Sunshine Education & Research Center. The summit is designed for employers, safety and health professionals, supervisors, managers, and workers across construction, manufacturing, and general industry. It focuses on practical strategies to strengthen workplace safety and health programs.
The event will feature expert-led presentations covering OSHA regulatory updates, the Focus Four hazards with an emphasis on electrical safety, fire prevention and control, lockout/tagout (LOTO), Forklift and Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) training, powered industrial trucks, ergonomics, human and organizational performance (HOP), and the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence on occupational safety and health. Participants will gain practical tools and insights that can be immediately applied in their workplaces, while also benefiting from opportunities to network with safety and health professionals across industries.Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all registered attendees. Participants seeking proof of attendance for continuing education self-reporting purposes must complete both the morning and afternoon attendance verifications.Certificate / Proof of Attendance
- Certificates will not be issued. In lieu of a certificate, registrants will receive a formal letter confirming the total number of contact hours attended, to be submitted to their credentialing or certifying body (e.g., BSCP) for CEU consideration. To receive full credit, participants must sign in twice once during the morning session and again during the afternoon session.
