Course Title: (HIS222) THE HISTORY OF THE CITADEL

In September, U.S. News & World Report named The Citadel "Best Public University in the South" for the 15th year in a row, and for the 2nd consecutive year the #1 Regional University in the South. Citadel graduates have made and influenced public policy in South Carolina and beyond for generations. This history, at times controversial, will be explored.

John Warley

Biography: JOHN WARLEY is a 1967 graduate of The Citadel with a law degree from UVA. He is the author of seven published books, including a history of The Citadel. In 2024, he received an honorary doctorate, "in recognition of his inspiring words that tell the story of his alma mater."
