Course Title: (HIS206) BEAUFORT DISTRICT IN THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION-THE FIRST SHOTS

Some of the earliest incidents of armed resistance in the Revolutionary War, and the war in South Carolina, occurred in the Beaufort District. This presentation focuses on the most notable events in the beginning of the Revolution in this area.

Biography: STEPHEN R. WISE, Ph.D., is Curator of the Parris Island Museum, Cultural Resource Manager for the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, adjunct professor at USCB, and advisor to many historical organizations. He holds degrees from Wittenberg, Bowling Green State, and USC.
