Biography: JUANITA BABET VILLENA-ALVAREZ arrived at USCB with a newly minted PhD in 1994. Her accolades include initiating USCB's 1995 study abroad, 1998 USCB Professor of the Year, 2010 South Carolina Governor's Professor of the Year, 2012 South Carolina Board of Trustees Professorship, 2018 Fulbright-Hays Group Seminar in Poland, and leading USCB's South Korean and Asian Literacy Education program with a Fulbright-Hays grant from 2023-2025.
