SMITH Ph.D. is a retired archaeologist with 30 years' experience conducting archaeological research at South Carolina Revolutionary War battles, including archaeological work on the Camden battlefield. He has published extensively on the archaeology of the revolution including Francis Marion and the Snow's Island Community, and the Battles of Fort Watson and Fort Motte.
