Instructor: Cory Messerschmidt
|
Biography: DR. CORY MESSERSCHMIDT built an interest in medicine in high school, volunteering at a hometown emergency room in Virginia with his father. In college, he knew he had found his calling after shadowing an orthopedic surgeon at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, and said it was an experience he will "never forget." During his sports medicine fellowship at Emory University, he worked alongside professional sports teams such as the Atlanta Falcons and NCAA collegiate teams like Georgia Tech. In Thomasville, GA, he also worked with high school athletes as a team physician. Dr. Messerschmidt and his wife, Dominique, have two children and a dog and are excited to call Beaufort home. They enjoy playing pickleball, golf, and tennis; spending time outdoors; and traveling whenever possible. |
