Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue proudly serves the community through emergency response, rescue services, prevention programs, and public education. Established on July 1, 1993, the department was formed through the consolidation of the Hilton Head Island Fire Department, and the Sea Pines - Forest Beach Fire District. We will give an overview and discuss the 3-year strategic plan for the community's safety.

Biography: CHIEF CHRIS BLANKENSHIP came to Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue as a College Intern in 2001, before graduating from Eastern Kentucky University in May of 2002, with a Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration and later a Master's of Executive Leadership. Over the next 20 years, Chief Blankenship was promoted through his dedication and hard work and was appointed as Fire Chief in September of 2022.
