Course Title: (HIS129) CUBA TODAY
As historian Louis Perez has written, Cuba and the United States have historically had ''ties of singular intimacy.'' As the Cuban Revolution approaches the end of its 7th decade, relations between both countries are at an all-time low, and the Revolution is in difficult straits. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, son of Cuban immigrants, is leading a strong political effort to bring down the Cuban Revolution. This course will discuss the current relations between the U.S. and Cuba, after a historical contextual setup.
