Immerse yourself in nature, just like Edouard Monet, as you explore the vibrant art of pastels and plein air drawing. Plein air is a French term meaning painting in the open air. This technique involves rendering landscapes outdoors while observing your surroundings. In this course, we will focus on compositional strategies, pastel drawing techniques, and color theory. Over two class sessions, students will sketch, plan, and create a finished pastel drawing of the beautiful Lowcountry landscape surrounding the USCB Beaufort Campus.
