Course Title: (HIS10926/HIS11026) READING THROUGH TIME - LOWCOUNTRY HISTORY IN THE BEAUFORT COLLEGE COLLECTION
The Beaufort College Collection (BCC), housed within the USCB Beaufort campus library, represents an evolving body of print materials that reflects the intellectual and cultural heritage of the South Carolina Lowcountry region. This Lowcountry-centered collection includes works on colonial settlement, the Antebellum period, Reconstruction, Gullah culture, maritime and environmental heritage, education, and more. This course will provide attendees with an overview of the collection, highlight notable primary and secondary source materials, and explain how to access these resources.
