T&L 2900: ND Military Legacy, Grades 4-12

Learn about the vital contributions of North Dakota and its residents to state and national defense. Covers the 1860s to the 1980s and follows various themes through historic eras.

The State Historical Society of North Dakota's 2025 Summer Teacher Institute, "Frontier to Frontlines: North Dakota's Military Legacy" is set for July 21-24 in Cooperstown, North Dakota. To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and Navy, the workshop will bring together the State Historical Society of North Dakota at the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Historic Site, the Griggs County Historical Society, and Griggs County Central Schools. This workshop features lectures and hands-on opportunities to assist educators of students in grades 4-12.


Additionally, participants must register via UND and pay the $100 fee to obtain professional development credit.

Cancellation Policy

If UND receives the Course Withdrawal Form 7 or more calendar days before the learning event start date, the fee paid to UND Professional Development for Educators minus a $35 processing fee will be refunded. If the fee paid to UND is less than $100 the processing fee will be waived. NO REFUNDS are available if a withdrawal notification is received 6 or less calendar days before the learning event start date.
