T&L 2900: MC: DCB sUSA Bootcamp
Dakota College at Bottineau sUAS Department will be hosting its second immersive Industry sUAS Bootcamp, a dynamic program designed to equip professionals with the practical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to excel in the growing field of unmanned aircraft systems.
Join us in Bottineau for an opportunity to experience how drones can be used in Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Business and Industry. Participants will receive training to help prepare them to take their 107 exam, flight training, drone maintenance, data collection and interpretation. Participants will be able to transfer the boot camps field studies to practical real-world applications. Participants will experience hands-on, minds-on learning through a balance of presentations, discussions, activities, field tours, and flight training experience. The curriculum designed by Dakota College at Bottineau sUAS instructors with the input and collaboration of their business and industry sUAS BILT committee members.
The bootcamp is a 24 hours (virtual) & 23 hours hands on 3 professional development credit course for educators. This training session is perfect for PreK-12 teachers, university professors, informal educators, natural resource professionals, and leaders who want to gain the skills necessary to work with drones. The Boot camp is funded by NSF Grant and is facilitated by the faculty of Dakota College at Bottineau sUAS department. Dr. Linda Burbidge (Principal Investigator), Michelle Caulley (Lead sUAS Instructor), Josephine Leader (sUAS Instructor). Mrs. Bartholomay will oversee instructors and presenters to ensure adherence to course mission, purpose, and learning objectives of this bootcamp.
Participants will receive in-depth instruction that has been designed to challenge students. Upon completion of the course, participants will have the training needed to successfully use drones, be prepared to take their 107 certification and complete their final project applying what they learned in the course to address the real world on the job issue.
