This 3-day course is designed to train individuals to discover, sample, assess, and document asbestos-containing building materials (ACBM) in buildings. Techniques which focus on compliance with U.S. EPA regulations are emphasized. A hands-on inspection at the end of the course provides hands-on experience.This course is accredited/approved by the State of Alabama and based on the EPA Model Curriculum. This course is a combination of lectures, demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and an examination. It is intended for inspectors, consultants, contractors, engineers, architects, regulators, building owners and managers. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be presented with a certificate of training.

Pike is the Senior Project Engineer for Highland Technical Services, Inc. in Hoover, Alabama and is Adjunct Faculty at the University of Alabama in Continuing Studies Environmental & IndustrialPrograms. Judith's specialty areas include asbestos, lead based paint and microbial investigations, project management and abatement design, groundwater investigation, hazardous waste management, RCRA investigations, remedial systems design and implementation. She has experience in conducting Phase I, II & III Environmental Site Assessments, Property Condition Assessments, erosion control and above ground/underground storage tank management. Previous employment was with such companies as TUV RheinlandIndustrial Solutions, Inc. - Unified Testing Services, The Environmental League, LLC, W. W. Williams Environmental, Bhate Environmental, Inc. and K. B. Weygand & Associates. Judith received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
