OSHA 502 - Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers

PLEASE NOTE: If the class is Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) via Zoom, it is intended for persons who are previous customers or reside or work within the OSHA Birmingham Region which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida Panhandle, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. If you live or work outside of this region and are not a previous customer, we encourage you to seek virtual training within your Regional Authorized OTI Education Centers. This three-day course is designed for Outreach Training Program trainers who have completed #500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry and are authorized trainers in the OSHA Outreach Training Program. The course provides an update on OSHA construction standards, policies, and regulations.

Prerequisites: Course #500 Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry..

NOTE: Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainers are required to attend this course once every four years to maintain their trainer status.

Prior to registration, students must provide a copy of their current trainer card or an official transcript showing successful completion of the OSHA #500 Trainer course in OSHA Standards for Construction from their respective OSHA Training Institute Education Center, for verification of trainer status. Also provide a copy of a federal or state issued picture ID. (Driver's license is fine) Send to the Outreach Coordinator, for validation.

Biography: Dennis Keplinger has been the Safety & Occupational Health Specialist/Manager for the Department of Army for over 19 years. He is currently serving as Chief, Training/Policy & Programs Division, U. S. ArmySafety Center, in Fort Rucker, Alabama. Dennis is responsible for developing safety training and policy for Army-wide implementation. He is responsible for directing the design and development of traditionalinstructor presented safety training and interactive computer-based training for distance learning. Mr. Keplinger has supervised the development of Army safety policy, regulations, and accident prevention programs. He has served in various safety professional positions at the Safety Center since 1991. Dennismanaged the Army Safety and OH Intern training program from 1991 - 1996.Prior to his assignment to the U. S. Army Safety Center, he was the Safety and OH Manager, U. S. Army HQ V Corps, in Frankfurt, Germany from1987 - 1991; Safety and OH Specialist, Aviation Center, Fort Rucker, Alabama, 1984 - 1987; and Safety and OH Specialist, Armor Center, FortKnox, Kentucky, 1981-1984. Dennis has been a training course instructor for OSHA 501, General Industry 10-Hour and 30-Hour OSHA. He is a Certified Safety Professional and is a member of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Mr. Keplinger is presently the President of the Wiregrass Chapter, American Society of Safety Engineers in Dothan, Alabama.
