Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder

This course introduces the pathway of care for healthcare professionals to follow in caring for women with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Participants will increase their knowledge and awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). You will also gain confidence in identifying these disorders within the maternal population and obtain the tools necessary to support patients who are at most risk.In this course you will learn how to:Analyze each of the perinatal mood and anxiety disorders in the maternal population.Explain identification of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders in the maternal population.Discuss the various risks and contributing factors in the development of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Describe how perinatal mood and anxiety disorders intersect with maternal mortality. Differentiate the various clinical considerations and special circumstances related to the treatment of this population. Compare and contrast the various screening tools used with this population to assist in diagnosis and referrals.
