Insurance Testing-Online Proctor

Terms of Service:

Please read carefully before starting your exam.

1. You may not copy/take pictures/record the exam material during or after the exam, this includes during the review period. If you do so, you will have to retake the exam. This includes taking pictures of your results.

2. Only valid driver's licenses, passports, or government photo identification will be accepted. It must be current (not expired) and must be a hard copy. The temporary paper license will not be accepted.

3. YOU MUST BE ALONE IN THE ROOM TO TAKE THE EXAM. Failure to follow this rule will result in a failing grade, regardless of your results, and will result in referral to the ALDOI for discipline, which can include a ban from holding an insurance license in the state of Alabama.

4. No resources (scratch paper, calculator, etc.) are allowed during the exam.

5. You must have a laptop or desktop with a camera and a microphone. You cannot use a tablet or a mobile phone.

6. You may only have one monitor in use during the exam. 

7. You will be recorded throughout the exam and monitored to ensure the testing area remains secure.

8. Any breaches of academic integrity will result in a failing grade and a ban from online testing. 

9. You will be required to show the entirety of your testing room before launching the exam.

10. You must stay on camera at all times.

11. After the proctor reviews your exam footage, you will receive an email confirming your passing or failing grade and instructions for the next steps. This can take up to three business days.

Before registering, please read the important information below:
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT THE START DATE ON YOUR CONFIRMATION LETTER IS NOT YOUR TEST DATE, IT IS THE DATE THAT THE SESSION WAS PUT OUT ON THE WEB. PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE THIS AS YOUR TESTING DATE.
  • REGISTER USING A PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS. Generic emails such as Onboarding@company.com will NOT receive an invitation.
  • Please add noreply@proctoru.com to your safe senders list.
  • You will receive your invitation email on the next business day after registration.
  • We suggest students use the embedded web camera in their laptop or any standard webcam purchased and manufactured within the last 5 years.
  • Testers must use a laptop or a desktop. Tablets and mobile phones are not compatible.
  • Computers must have an operating system with Windows 10 or later or Mac OS 11.0 or later. All recent compatible versions of ChromeOS (extension workflow only) are supported.
  • Chromebooks are not compatible.
  •  Internet speed must be 1 Mbps, Upload and Download, Tethering and Hot Spots are not supported.
  • All microphones other than those built into headphones are permitted.
  • Headphones are not permitted.
  • Built-in or external speakers are required.
  • You will only be permitted to use a single monitor when testing, all others must be disconnected.
  • You will not be permitted to test with remote control software running on your computer.
  • You will not be permitted to take your exam from within a virtual machine.
  • You will not be permitted to use Apple Bootcamp to take your exam.
  • Unlicensed/inactive versions of Windows and Test Builds/Modes are not permitted.
  • Any external monitor connected to a laptop, regardless of whether the lid is closed or open, is not permitted.
  • You will receive an email from ProctorU with instructions to schedule your proctoring session on the next business day.
  • You may schedule your proctor session for 72 hours out without incurring an additional charge once you receive your invitation email.
  • If you choose to schedule your exam before the 72 hours after receiving your invitation email, the "Take It Soon" option, you will incur an additional charge of $8.00. If you choose to schedule it for the first 24 hours, the "Take It Now" option, you will incur an additional charge of $12.00.
  • Watch the Pre Exam Checklist video contained in the initial email.
  • You will need to download the Guardian Browser. There will be instructions once you log in to the ProctorU classroom.
  • Students need to make sure and set aside enough time to finish the exam in one sitting.
  • Once you have completed the exam, the proctor has to review the video to ensure all requirements are met. It may take up to 2 business days to receive your email confirming your exam results.
