Join our instructor Danielle Slate for Silversmithing 101, a hands-on, beginner-friendly class designed to introduce you to the foundational skills of silversmithing. Whether you're looking for a new hobby or starting your journey into jewelry design, this course is the perfect place to begin.
In This Class, You'll Learn:
?Tool Basics: What each tool is used for, and how to use it safely and effectively
?Metal Knowledge: Understand sheet metal, wire, bezel sizes, and how different metals are used in designs.
?Soldering Techniques: Learn about solder types, when to use them, and how to control your torch and flame confidently.
?Jewelry Fabrication Skills:
- Make single ring shanks, textured rings, and double ring shanks
- Make bezel set stone rings
- Learn piercing and sawing to make intricate, personalized designs
- Design and fabricate a pendant using skills learned
- Learn to attach jump rings to make a necklace for pendants
