Course Detail: REGISTERED.BEHAVIORAL.HEALTH.TECHNICIAN - Registered Behavioral Health Technician
A Registered Behavioral Health Technician (RBT) is a professional who provides direct therapy to clients with autism or other developmental disabilities.They work one-on-one with patients to help them learn new skills like communication and social interaction. They do this under the close guidance of their supervisor. An RBT is supervised by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who creates lesson and treatment plans. An RBT puts the plans into action and provides support for the client. RBT's can work in client homes, therapy clinics, and public and private schools.Upon completion of the 8-week program (which includes 40 hours of online class instruction, 16 hours of in-person class review and discussion, and completions of CPR certification) students will be prepared to complete the required competency assessment through an employer. After passing the competency assessment, students can register to take the certification exam to become a Registered Behavioral Health Technician.
