Course Detail: NU101 - Nutrition 101
Healthy eating should not feel confusing or overwhelming. Nutrition 101 with Lori Mathews is designed to help participants better understand food, hydration, portion awareness, and balanced nutrition in a welcoming and supportive environment. Led by a Registered Dietitian and MetroFIT instructor, this class focuses on helping participants learn how to fuel their bodies for optimal health, strength, energy, and overall wellness. Each session includes practical education, interactive discussion, and opportunities to ask questions in a comfortable, judgment-free setting. Participants will explore realistic nutrition habits that support long-term wellness without extreme dieting or unrealistic expectations. Topics may include meal planning, reading food labels, healthier everyday choices, hydration, balanced eating, and building sustainable routines that fit real life. Whether you are beginning your wellness journey, looking to improve your relationship with food, or simply wanting trusted guidance from a nutrition professional, Nutrition 101 provides the tools, support, and encouragement to help you feel more confident and informed about your health. ***Please Note: Childcare is not available. For safety and focus, children are not permitted in class. Participants must be at least 16 years old to enroll. Those who arrive with children may be asked to leave.
