Course Detail: The Spirit of Ireland: Stories, Landscapes & Traditions
Experience Ireland's history, culture, landscapes, and traditions during this 11-day Georgia Southern Travel With Purpose journey, October 1-11, 2027. Designed for lifelong learners ages 18 and older, this non-credit program offers a meaningful blend of guided exploration, cultural experiences, historic sites, traditional music, and independent discovery.
Travel from Dublin to Galway and Killarney while exploring some of Ireland's most celebrated destinations, including Newgrange, the Aran Islands, the Cliffs of Moher, Killarney National Park, the Ring of Kerry, and Blarney Castle. Along the way, participants will visit historic cities, ancient archaeological and monastic sites, a working Irish farm, castles, museums, and dramatic coastal landscapes.
The program includes nine hotel nights, one overnight flight, daily breakfast, four dinners, lunch at Slane Castle, private ground transportation, airport transfers in Ireland, ferry transportation to the Aran Islands, an English-speaking local guide, and scheduled tours and cultural experiences.
Featured experiences include Dublin, Kilmainham Gaol, the Guinness Storehouse, Trinity College and the Book of Kells, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, traditional Irish music, Newgrange, Clonmacnoise, Galway, Inis Mór, the Cliffs of Moher, Ross Castle, Muckross House, Cork, and the legendary Blarney Stone.
